The seven-session journey

One evening a week. Seven weeks. A different marriage.

Not every couple can get away for a weekend. This course carries the full journey — welcome to covenant — in seven weekly sessions, each with a short teaching, a private couple conversation, a practice, and a real-life commitment.

The rhythm

Every session follows the same gentle, practical shape

1

Teaching

A short, clear session grounded in Scripture and relationship research.

2

Question

A guided prompt to get you two talking honestly — privately, not in front of others.

3

Practice

You try the skill together in the room, with support, before you use it in real life.

4

Commitment

You each make one small, measurable commitment to carry into the next week.

The seven weeks

The journey, session by session

  • Welcome and hopeSpiritual

Orientation, consent, safety, and the hopes you’re both carrying into this season. We set the agreements that make the weeks safe and honest.

  • Equal dignity and shared covenantSpiritual

What marriage is — image of God, mutual dignity, covenant versus contract — and how to make decisions together without domination or passivity.

  • Connection and friendshipEmotional

Attention, emotional bids, needs, affection, and daily rituals of connection. Why closeness is built in tiny moments, not grand gestures.

  • Language and conflict toolsRelational skills

Our C.L.E.A.R. framework, a soft start-up, the 20-minute time-out, a repair sequence, and how to face recurring differences without despair.

  • Trust, forgiveness, and renewalEmotional

Apology and repentance, grief for what was hoped, and the real difference between forgiveness, reconciliation, and restored trust.

  • Intimacy, family, and daily partnershipPhysical & relational

Consent-based intimacy, money, work, technology, parenting, and family boundaries — the practical partnership of a shared life.

  • Life with Christ and the 90-day covenantSpiritual

Prayer and service together, a shared mission, a support map, and a follow-up plan that outlasts the course.

  • Format

    • Format: Weekly, 90 minutes, for couples
    • Setting: At your church, in a home, or online, depending on the format
    • Group: A small group of couples with private partner exercises
    • Cost: Scholarships are available; no couple turned away for cost

    Who this serves

Couples who prefer to grow gradually, couples who like the company of other couples on the same road, and churches who want to offer a thoughtful, safe discipleship pathway for marriages. It’s also a gentle first step for couples who aren’t ready for a retreat weekend.

The course is education and spiritual formation — not therapy. For situations involving trauma, addiction, or safety concerns, we’ll walk with you toward qualified professional care first.
