Questions
Asked honestly, answered plainly.
About the experience
Will we have to share in front of other couples?
No. Never. Every meaningful conversation at our retreats and course sessions is private between you and your spouse. There is no circle of strangers confessing, no forced public sharing, and no “everyone say something” moment. Facilitators are available for optional private support; we don’t demand it.
Is this therapy or counseling?
No. Committed in Christ is an educational and spiritual-formation ministry. Some couples’ situations genuinely need a licensed counselor or therapist — and when they do, we’ll say so and help you find one. The retreat and course aren’t substitutes for clinical care.
What if only one of us wants to come?
That’s very common — and it’s okay. A spouse who’s hesitant doesn’t need to be dragged; in fact, pressure rarely helps. Share this page with them, pick a low-commitment first step (a Renewal Evening or the At-Home guide), and let the experience speak for itself. And if the hesitation signals that one partner is genuinely leaning out, we can talk about a different first step together.
What if we’re in a serious crisis, or there’s abuse?
A retreat is not the right step — and we will tell you so kindly. Situations involving violence, credible fear, coercion, coercive control, or untreated addiction need confidential, specialized, professional help first. Please see our crisis-help page for confidential resources. Your safety comes before any program.
Is it for engaged couples, or only married?
Engaged and seriously dating couples are welcome — and many find the preparation pathway (“Before the Vows”) particularly valuable. Married couples at every stage are the core of what we do. We serve couples of every Christian tradition and couples exploring faith.
Do we need to be Christian, or part of a specific church?
No. We are a Christ-centered ministry and transparent about that — you’ll meet prayer, Scripture, and worship woven through the experience. But we welcome couples from every tradition and every stage of faith, including those who are spiritually curious. You’ll never be shamed or pressured.
Practical questions
What does it cost?
Pricing is shared directly for each offering. Scholarships are available, and no couple is turned away for cost. If cost is the barrier, tell us and we’ll work it out discreetly.
Where are the retreats held?
Retreats and courses may be held in churches, retreat centers, conference spaces, or online, with an emphasis on privacy, comfort, and accessibility.
Is childcare provided?
Childcare is not part of the core retreat experience. We recommend arranging care for young children so you can be fully present together.
What’s the refund policy?
Registration and cancellation terms are explained clearly before any payment or commitment. If circumstances change, contact us promptly so we can discuss the available options.
Who facilitates?
Trained marriage educators and couple mentors lead the educational experience. Read more about our scope on the About page.
Trust & safety
Is the private check-in confidential?
Yes — it runs entirely in your browser. Nothing you type there is sent, saved, or shared. It’s designed to help you notice where you are, not to evaluate your marriage. (And it never produces a “score” predicting divorce.)
Do you offer counseling or coaching?
Not under our ministry umbrella. If your situation calls for licensed counseling or specialized coaching, we’ll help you find an appropriate qualified provider.
What about accessibility?
We aim for every retreat venue and every page on this site to be accessible — physical access, clear type, screen-reader support, reduced motion, and captioned media where used. If you have a specific need, tell us; we’ll work to meet it.
