Week 1

Our story, covenant, and starting point

The dream and the drift

Marriage moves through seasons: romance, disappointment, repair, and awakening. Good intentions need repeatable patterns.

What this lesson is about

Marriage moves through seasons: romance, disappointment, repair, and awakening. Good intentions need repeatable patterns.

02

Practice it at home

Each spouse writes three moments that shaped the marriage and shares one memory they want to honor. The listener receives the story before offering commentary.

Prepare first. Choose a calm time, silence notifications, and agree that either spouse may pause. The goal is honest connection, not a perfect conversation.

03

Talk together

  • What season does our marriage feel like right now?
  • Which memory reminds us that our story contains more than the current difficulty?
  • What would help us speak about drift without blaming one another?

04

Carry one small habit

End each day with: “What was one high and one hard moment today?”

Ecclesiastes 3:1 · Psalm 90:12

Scripture anchor for reflection
Stop if this creates fear. No lesson should be used to force disclosure, sexual activity, forgiveness, reconciliation, or continued cohabitation. If either spouse feels afraid, trapped, monitored, coerced, or unable to answer freely, stop joint work and seek confidential specialized support through the safety pathway.
