01

What this lesson is about

Explore covenant, mutual dignity, leaving and cleaving, boundaries, and a shared purpose rooted in Genesis 2 and Ephesians 5.

02

Practice it at home

Create a one-page “our marriage is becoming…” statement. Name one boundary that protects the marriage and one practice that expresses mutual dignity.

Prepare first. Choose a calm time, silence notifications, and agree that either spouse may pause. The goal is honest connection, not a perfect conversation.

03

Talk together

  • What do we want our covenant to mean in ordinary life?
  • Where do we need a boundary that protects our marriage?
  • How can our faith make room for both spouses to speak honestly?

04

Carry one small habit

Speak one sentence of commitment: “Today I choose to move toward you by…”

Genesis 2:24–25 · Ephesians 5:21–33

Scripture anchor for reflection
Stop if this creates fear. No lesson should be used to force disclosure, sexual activity, forgiveness, reconciliation, or continued cohabitation. If either spouse feels afraid, trapped, monitored, coerced, or unable to answer freely, stop joint work and seek confidential specialized support through the safety pathway.
